Polling Errors
Device Did Not Respond
Device Did Not Respond errors often indicate that there is a communication failure between the modem and the end device.
During initial setup, common causes are crossed transmit/receive wires or a mismatched station ID/modbus slave address.
If the device is on a radio network, this error can indicate an issue with a radio in addition to the potential issues listed above.
Unable to Open Connection
This error has two primary causes
1. The modem itself is unreachable
2. If on a ethernet connection, the selected port is unreachable. This can be caused by an issue with the port forwarding rules or network configuration on the end device.
Meter Settings
Spot Values Updating but Not Historical Records
Incorrect meter date/time settings will usually present as being able to demand poll a meter, but not see current historical archives. This is due to the meter logging records with the 'incorrect' date. Sending the current date/time settings to the meter to update will generally resolve this, but can indicate issues with the meter function or power configuration that may need further attention.
